Geeks on the Beach '13

Hey y'all! It's almost summer and everyone's heading out to the beach. So why don't we take a look at one of the events Ingenuity folks have gone to last year, just to have a little appetizer for whatever you guys are planning for this year's summer getaway :D

Tadaah!! Presenting the Geeks on a Beach (GOAB) '13

As the team continues its quest to keep updated for what's "hot" in the startup community, missing the first ever GOAB is definitely a NO, NO! Who wouldn't want to take part in a stress-free community event, meet with like-minded, passionate people and experts on startups, technology and design, hear what they have to say, and of course, just to simply have fun.

Just so you can get the gist of the kind of fun that I am talking about here are some photos that can paint you a thousand clues:

While waiting at the airport.. and uhh Pat what are you doing?

Finally the airplane! Wee!

At sea. We're almost there.

Alright! We are finally here!
There were lot's of people, you literally can't wait to meet them all! You would want to know where they are from, what kinds of stuff (err.. startups) they are doing, what inspiring stories they have to tell, aaaand the list goes on.

It was just day one, and we were supposed to be tired from the travel. But the day was far from over.

Hello Boracay!!
Look how happy these people are.. it's just simply.. indescribable.
Someone's running low on batteries.
More or less, this sums up the first day. With a good night's rest, everyone was looking forward to the next day.

Day two started with a nice, warm meal, having your favorite Pinoy breakfast viand paired with an egg, cooked sunny-side up, and by default, with garlic fried rice.

Omnomnomnom..
The day's event was full of talks and meetups with experts, sharing their experiences and expertise on how startups work specific to the Filipino setting. It was a day filled with learning and inspiring stories. What is the message without the person of course, so it is imperative that we take some pictures.

As an ending for the already successful event, the rest of the night was spent letting the hidden party-animals from these geeks out. You can feel the salty breeze brush through your skin as well as the smooth grains of sand between your toes. You can hear the music as the lights dance. You get to relax, chill out and meet with everybody else. It was exhilarating!
Day three, we decided to experience everything else that Boracay has to offer before heading out. You'll get to see some photos as a bonus. Enjoy!

A nice shot of the local scenery..
Care for a ride?
Yes, there's such a thing as the 'pre-jump' shots, just in case you'd ask.

Brace yourselves for the Banana Boat!

We even managed to wave at the camera despite the bumpy ride.

These guys ain't backin' down.

Ready.. steady..

Goooooo, woohoo!!

And of course, nothing beats having a smile to take with you back home :)
